As a general practitioner with years of experience, I have had the opportunity to work alongside medical professionals in various fields. One common misconception among students is that all doctors are the same. However, the medical field has numerous specialties that require unique expertise and training. This article aims to provide insight into the various medical specialties and the roles of doctors in these fields.

General Practitioner (GP) or Family Medicine
General practitioners are the first point of contact for most people seeking medical care. They provide primary health care services to patients of all ages, genders, and backgrounds. GPs are trained to diagnose and treat a broad range of medical conditions and provide preventive health care services such as vaccinations, screening tests, and health education.

Pediatrics
